I think it’s also in the patient’s best interest to initiate and seek out an appropriate treatment plan to prevent their back or neck pain from becoming chronic. Early access to the appropriate treatment, including stretching and strengthening exercises, will help to prevent secondary changes to the muscles that result in muscle tightness, weakness, and further pain.
