Yoga for Back Pain - Tadasana - Mountain Pose - Brings Whole Body Alignment

This month, the Yoga for Back Pain collaboration between myself and About.com's yoga guide, Ann Pizer resumes with tadasana, or mountain pose. Mountain pose is the first of the standing poses, and it trains every single muscle to help the body come into alignment. As usual, Ann provides instructions for the pose, while I review the pose in relationship to back pain.

If you are unsure about doing yoga for your back, you may want to review the overview article on the subject. It can help you get going safely and effectively. You can also take the Yoga for Back Pain Awareness Quiz to see how much you know about taking care of your back as you embark on the yoga journey. Try reviewing Series #1, for beginners with back pain, or sign up for the ecourse.
