Triangle pose works the hips, which can help with back pain.

This month, the Yoga for Back Pain collaboration between Ann Pizer, About.com's Yoga guide and myself features the triangle or trikonasana pose. Yoga for back pain would not be complete without some excellent hip work, and the triangle yoga pose provides just that. It works the hips right at the joint, and thereby develops muscular support for posture. Triangle pose is great for back pain in other ways, as well.
