Our Yoga for Back Pain collaboration (between
Ann Pizer and myself) continues this month with
side angle pose. This pose will challenge your balance and give you a great spine lengthening experience, as well as help you reverse years of
poor posture habits. And, as a mixture with the right poses, including preparation work (i.e.
pelvic tilt), side angle can help address the pain and discomfort of
scoliosis. To learn how to perform side-angle pose correctly,
follow the instructions.
Side angle pose is a standing pose, and should be preceded with tadasana, or mountain pose and triangle pose. See Ann's write up on the series of poses.
