Be Meningitis Aware

Thursday September 6, 2007
The back to school season is associated with the risk for meningitis because of an associated rise in intimate behaviors. It pays to be aware of facts about meningitis - what it is, if it is contagious, and symptoms. Symptoms of meningitis are easily mistaken with those of the flu. They include, among other things, a stiff neck and sensitivity to light. So don't take a chance - see a doctor even if you don't think you have meningitis, but you do have symptoms of the flu. It may save your life.
