Myofascial Pain Syndrome and Fibromyalgia - The Difference

Myofascial pain syndrome and fibromyalgia both show up as painful and palpable “points” in muscles. But aside from crossover --- 72% of people with fibromyalgia also have active trigger points, one of the main symptoms of myofascial pain syndrome -- most of the remaining symptoms in each could not be more distinct from one another. You may suffer from one, or both - regardless, they are two very different conditions.
