In the cat-cow stretch you will experience both arching and rounding of the back. If you went through Lesson 1 seriously, you are well-prepared to adapt today's pose to your condition. If you did not, for your back's safety, please review it. And remember, the cat-cow pose is a warm-up so don't power through it -- go gently enough to luxuriate through it and enjoy your spine. |

| I love cat-cow because as simple as this movement seems, it always give me the opportunity to learn more about my spine. I have had profoundly healing moments with this pose, and I hope you will, too. Remember, if you have a problem or injury with a facet joint, consult your physician or therapist before attempting the cow part. If you have a disk problem, do the same before attempting the cat part. In short, find out how to accommodate your injury when you do this stretch. |
