Adherence is a term used to describe how well a patient or client is sticking to:
- their home exercise program
- their gym program
- the recommendations made to them by their health professional.
Some ideas for maintaining adherence to an exercise or therapy program are:
- scheduling the program's activities so they are convenient
- ask your therapist or trainer for a variety of activities that can be switched around
- learn more about your condition, treatment, etc. by asking questions and researching
- moderation
- find caring role models.
