Cervicalgia is a general term used to describe pain in the neck. Most of the time, cervicalgia may be due to a muscle strain or ligament sprain. Neck pain that cannot be attributed to a serious cause is often referred to as cervicalgia.

Lumbago is a similar term to cervicalgia that refers to pain in the low back.
