Pull the Weed Out

A start forward from the hip will take your whole body forward to grasp the weed.

Conserve energy and avoid straining your back when you pull the weed out by using your body weight as power. First, bring your back hip down to the ground. Remember to allow the folding action at your hips. Also remember to keep the position and angle of your shoulders and elbows from moving. The chain reaction from your hips through your trunk, shoulders, arms and hands can provide the force necessary to dislodge the roots from the soil. Move your body, and the weed will follow.
