Parts of a Vertebra - Lamina

Definition: The lamina is part of the vertebra. It is located in the back, behind the vertebral body. It is a flat area of bone between the superior process forming the facet joint and the spinous process.

The lamina is located on either side, in the back, and helps to form the central canal through which the spinal cord passes.
