Definition: MRI, or Magnetic Resonance Imaging is a diagnostic tool that creates cross-sectional images of areas inside the body. MRIs allow the doctor to see muscles, nerves, the spinal cord, and organs. An MRI can show herniated disks, tumors, and problems with soft tissue.
