Question: What is the Difference between the 2 Types of Neurostimulation Systems?
Answer: 1. IPG – Implanted Pulse Generators are fully implanted under the skin, including the battery. This type of system is best for simple pain patterns and low to moderate pain levels. This is because there will be little to no need to change the battery, a task that requires surgery.

2. RF – Radio Frequency system sends radio wave through an antenna to the implanted device. The RF system is suitable for complex pain patterns because it gives high energy signals and offers advanced programming to targeted areas of pain. You can adjust the stimulus to suit the changes in your pain pattern over time. With RF systems, the battery remains outside the body to avoid a surgical procedure when changing or recharging the battery becomes necessary.
