Definition: Spinal is a term that is used to refer to the spine, the spinal column, or spinal anesthesia. Spinal may also be used when describing a spinous process, which is a projection of bone on the back of spinal bones to which muscles and ligaments attach.
Pronunciation: spi-nal
Examples:
Spinal epidurals are sometimes given to patients with sciatica or pain that radiates down an arm.
