Definition: A thick, round piece of bone that is the relative front of the vertebra or spinal bone.

You cannot touch your vertebral bodies, as their location is too deep inside your trunk. From front to back, the acutal location is approximately in the center.

Much of the spine is composed of the vertebral bodies stacked up on top of one another, with intervertebral discs in between (for cushioning). The vertebral bodies support the weight of the body and provide movement via the intervertebral joints.
