Often the decision to go to one back doctor over another is related to the type of condition you have. Sometimes it's related to your beliefs or lifestyle choices about medicine. If you've been referred to specialists or pain management clinics you may have been exposed to many types of back doctors. With so many specialties, how do you know where to start? And once you've been referred, how do you manage relationships with an array of spine doctors and other helpers? Share your experience with choosing and managing relationships with back doctors. Be Open and Honest

Some doctors will get snippy if they find out you've gone to another doctor, regardless of whether or not it is a second opinion. If this is the case, you have a choice to make. A) Tolerate snippy or B) Find a doctor who is willing to work collaboratively to get you the best possible care. With either route, be sure to share test results and any other information your doctors develop with your entire care team.
