Certain terms are useful to understand if you are taking pain meds. Sometimes you will encounter terms you need to know on the label. Other times a term can give you an idea of the general way in which drugs work in the body to relieve pain. Regardless, an educated consumer will know basic pain medication terminology. Here are a few:
