Quiet Activities for the Back Pain Sufferer

Quiet activities for the back pain sufferer.

If you are planning to spend Saturday afternoon or evening just chillin’ I’ve got something for you to do. Check out the videos on back topics such as spinal stenosis or what happens when you get a spinal tap. (A spinal tap is a diagnostic procedure in which samples of the cerebrospinal fluid is taken - yes, by needle - and analyzed to see if there’s an infection. For example, a spinal tap may be given when your doctor suspects you have meningitis. )

Since meningitis is potentially lethal, why not take a minute to be sure you understand the basics? The Meningitis Awareness Quiz - will only take a few minutes and it will help you confirm your knowledge on the topic.

And if you are looking for more info on spinal stenosis, here it is.

But I digress. If reading is more your thing, here are a few books I think are really good for those with chronic or persistent pain. The first, called Healing Pain, by Dr. Ann Berger, is written by a doctor who is also a pain patient, and the second, Understanding Pain, is a great book for understanding the science of what causes the pain. An article I wrote, Chronic Pain and Emotional Territory would make a nice companion to either of these two books.
