Definition: Hypermobility is a term used to describe a condition of joints, including spinal joints, in which the joint easily far exceeds normal range of motion. A more common term for hypermobility is “doublejointedness”. While fairly innocuous in itself, hypermobility presents problems when it sets up a musculoskeletal condition that is vulnerable to injury. Hypermobility is the condition of being too flexible.
